Scholarship Details – Elementary

Funded through contributions to the Beyond Sunday campaign, the Beyond Sunday Education Fund Scholarship Program provides tuition assistance to middle-income families seeking a Catholic education for their children. Awards are available to students attending most Catholic elementary and high schools in the Archdiocese of St. Louis. Beyond Sunday is open to students of all faiths, with preference given to Catholic students. Elementary school awards renew through the eighth grade, and high school awards renew through the twelfth grade.  Annual income requalification is required for all awards.

 

For the 2017-2018 school year, Beyond Sunday Elementary Scholarships will be tiered based on family income, with a maximum award amount of $2,000. A minimum annual tuition payment of $500 per student is required. Beyond Sunday Scholarships are open to both new and existing students, and are transferrable if the student transfers to another participating Catholic elementary school within the Archdiocese of St. Louis. Beyond Sunday Scholarships are limited to one per family per school, though families may be eligible for additional tuition assistance through other programs.

 

The open application period for Beyond Sunday Scholarships is January 30 – February 28, 2017.

A minimum annual tuition payment of $1,000 per student is required. Beyond Sunday Scholarships are open to both new and existing students, and are transferrable if the student transfers to another participating Catholic high school within the Archdiocese of St. Louis. Beyond Sunday Scholarships are limited to one per family per school, though families may be eligible for additional tuition assistance through other programs.

 

Applicants for Beyond Sunday Fellows Scholarships will be required to write a brief essay describing why they desire to become a Beyond Sunday Fellow, and provide contact information for two Catholic or educational leaders who may be contacted to provide a reference. Students awarded a Beyond Sunday Fellows Scholarship will participate in annual events planned by the Roman Catholic Foundation of Eastern Missouri, including a service activity and a faith experience.

Additional Essay and Reference Information

The essay required to be considered for the Beyond Sunday Fellows program must be written by the student applicant.  In approximately 250 words, the student should explain why he or she wants to be a Beyond Sunday Fellow.  In addition to receiving scholarship funds, Beyond Sunday Fellows engage in activities together twice per year that encourage development as young Catholic leaders.  The essay should focus on why the student would like to be a part of this exciting opportunity.

 

Contact information for two references is also required for consideration in the Beyond Sunday Fellows Program.  References should be Catholic or educational leaders (pastor, teacher, coach, youth minister) who are willing to attest that the student would be a good fit for the Beyond Sunday Fellows Program. Contact information should include the name, phone number, email, title, and organization for each reference.
